I was introduced to Tekumel by the original EPT. It has held a place in my heart for many years. I've run a few games (over time) with those rules and played in a few. With the release of Savage Worlds and the long "soon" status of Tekumel:EPT, I did a little conversion of the original EPT to SW.

I like the "Old School" feel and the setting so, I have been pleased with the results. I will most likely continue if I manage to play enough to warrant the effort.

If anyone is interested, here is my page with what I have posted so far.

I may have already back when the game was current.
Besides, if everything is there, why would people come here?

(Thanks for caring enough to suggest that.)

There is also a fairly active Savage Worlds yahoo group that you might be interested in.
Then there is the small scale mini game by the same group - Savage Worlds Showdown that might interest you. There is a yahoo group for them too

Greentongue - Great work on the Savage Worlds conversion! I'm hoping to run it here before too long.

Old Shen - San Antonio? Me too. Small pocket universe, eh?

Best regards,

I've been thinking a lot about Savage Worlds approach to Tekumel, and I am going to try it out with my kids who are hankering for a rich, detailed, and realistic scifi/fantasy setting... they're roughly introductory in terms of d20 style systems, and the GOO book is a wonderful feast, but Savage Worlds is just so, um, quick, intuitive, fun, and all that rot... well, perhaps I will post feedback on our experience of it, so thanks for the great resources on your SW Tek page.

I have posted the latest attempt at character generation here:

Would anyone give feedback on the results?
Does it capture the "Old D&D" and "Tekumel setting" feel and still give the flexibility of the Savage Worlds rules?

Any specific suggestions for how it could be done better?

Thanks,

Got some feedback from other locations and added another take on Character Creation.

I would still be interested in feedback. Even if it is just to suggest working other aspects (such as creatures) instead.

I LOVE Savage Worlds and I think Tekumel would make a fantastic "Savage Setting." Your conversion looks like a pretty good start. I'd really like to see an "official" Tekumel world book for SW. I know How much would a license from M. A. R. B. cost?

I have finally got around to updating more of the "Savage Tekumel Bestiary".
Far from done but progressing.
All feedback is always welcomed.

Professor Barker is really good about licenses, with very little charged for obtaining one. The real problem is to get in touch with him as he is getting on in years. Bob Alberti is probably the best man to talk to, I believe he's associated with this site.

I'll add my 2 cents... DO IT... a SW Tekumel setting book would be great. And you could use one of the print on demand type of outlets for publishing... it would lower risks, as each unit sold would be done on demand. Prices to print are higher, yeah, but still you are not out a huge sum and holding an inventory.
