Things are progressing slowly. Currently working on layout and descriptive text for A Band of Joyous Heroes - our upcoming skirmish game. I have hopes that Mark Allen (the artist) will have some more sketches for me soon. On the sculpting front, our two new American sculptors are working on armatures and blanks for the projects I have for them. In the UK, Alan Marsh is working on (Napoleonic?) artillery pieces - once he is done that, he says he will get to our stuff: the Ahoggya and some others (including a little surprise.)

Green lacquer is mentioned as a common coloring for many Yan Koryani units. Yellow and white? That doesn't sound familiar

For what it's worth, the Armies of Tekumel series of booklets gives painting guides for all the legions of the Five Empires, and many satellite forces as well. There are 6 booklets, one for each empire plus one for Shenyu. They each give a few notes on overall army organization, then capsule stats and descriptions for each legion or legion-equivalent, and a table of colors (primary, secondary/kilt, trim, shield, helm) for each unit.

The series was written and published some years ago, and is set during the late 2350's, while Tsolyanu is still at war with Yan Kor, and the Livyani are involved in a serious effort in the Tsolei Isles. You can get the booklets from Tita's House of Games, they are all about $8 each.

I had some of those books but donated them all to Lord Vimúlha's Cleansing Flame a few years back when my condo burned up. I need to reorder.

There were some pics on the Eurika minis website of The Gurek of Tleku Miriya in yellow and white. I just toned down the yellow/white and uped the green.

As we say in the Carolina's "Them boys is yeller!"

I see what you mean. Yan Kor a lot less centralized then Tsolyanu, so I bet there is more variation in unit colors.

I think the Armies Books are good to have. Some of the unit information in the Tsolyani book overlaps with some other sources, but the books for the other empires include lots of information (not just about military units) that exists nowhere else.

In case others are interested, the full gallery of painted Eureka Tekumel figs is here:
http://eurekamin.com.au/gallery.php?g2_itemId=203

It's hard to find the Tekumel figs on the Eureka site, the word Tekumel apparently doesn't appear anywhere in their database, and even though they call the line "Armies and Enemies of the Petal Throne" a search on petal gives no results. You have to browse your way to it. Here's the page for the line on the main (Australian) site:
http://eurekamin.com.au/index.php?cPath=87_126_721

On the Eureka USA site, the same line is called "Empire of the Petal Throne by Alan Marsh 28 mm"

oh yea, these guys sure now how to work a database

Tita's has the minis too, though no pictures:

Yep, the sculptor did an excellent job of making the Yan Koryani not as uniform. They have subtitle differences in armor and not all of them have plumes. (They also have more girls in uniform.) A turquoise Gurek is not out of the question for me, but I still wanted my figures more green.
