Does anyone have any info on the status of the proposed Tekumel miniatures that Eureka was designing? The figure that appears in the link on the first page of this site is quit stunning. I love the detail in the armor.

I hope this project is still underway. Any news?

Cheers,

Eric

I too am eagerly awaiting them. I'm currently saving money to put in an order.

Howard Fielding is apparently the person pursuing this project. He occasionally posts to the TekumelMinis-War list.

His last message was in December:

http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/Tek ... essage/321

There hasn't been anything about the status of the project since then. He did post a question to the main Tekumel list just recently though, so I suspect things are still in the works.

George,

Thanks for the reply and for the link. I am glad to hear that this project is still on course. The sample minitaure looks so good, that I would hate to see all that hard sculpting work go to waste.

Incidentally, have any of you looked at the really lovely castings of Aztecs over at Eureka? I am tempted to buy some of them to use as placeholder figures until the Tekumel line is released.

Here's a link:

Be sure to enlarge the images.

Cheers,

Eric

I ordered a few of the figures from Robert B. Walker at Eureka Miniatures USA. I was impressed with how quick I got the figures. They have very little frash and are easy to clean up but the plumes and swords are a little fiddly. (I am currently waiting on the blue ink to dry on the first three!) I really am hopind for the nonhumans as well as the Sarku devoted units for the recent civil war

If you bought some of the troopers, what are you using for the spears?

Wargames Foundry spears. They have sharp tips. I had to cut them down from pike size. I had a pack left over from my Darkest Afrika days.

I also strung the bows with really thin wire. It's a pain but I found it makes the bow look like a bow not a stick. I tried tread, paint brush bristles, and human hair. Wire works best. I got the idea from the splendid 54mm figures the Russians are painting.

By the way, don't glue the plumes until after you paint them. I glued them in place first. It would be MUCH easier to paint the troops without having to paint around them.

Thanks for the tips. I've ordered my spears from Old Glory. I bought long ones that I'll cut down once I see how they look with the troopers. I would like to see photos of your figures.

YW. I'll have to post some pics as I get them done. My Buddy, Phil has a Hirst Arts dungeon. I would like to get some pics of them "underground". If I can get competing groups of humans and some appropriate nonhumans I would like to do an all Tekumel dungeon crawl.
