Thanks, then I know I'm not doing anything setting-breaking stuff.
I figured that the slavers probably bought some slaves from other countries, or followed armies around to be ready to cut some quick deals during war. And likly they also keep at least some slaves around for the purpose of breeding new ones who can be raised into a docile life of servitude. But when there's peace, I figured, how did they get new stock to replenish their supply in the first place on a scale larger enough to support society's need for slaves?
I was thinking for some time to add some kind of savage raiding and putting whole villages in chains, but then I decided that the slavers would have to travel very long to find territory where that could work, and there wouldn't be soldiers and navies on the watch against them. If at all possible within a practical perspective for most slaver Clans. And thus, the idea that I posted in my first post.
