Mitlányal is a two-volume compendium of the theologies, deities, rites and rituals of the Empire of the Petal Throne. The compendium also includes a brief discussion of the history of Tékumel and Tsolyánu; character studies to explore how the gods have a hand in the lives of their Tsolyáni worshippers; and numerous corrections to the prior text-only version.


The Tsolyáni Language Pronunciation Guide with Ceremonies and Music from the World of Tékumel

Tracks 1 and 2 of this CD contain a digital recording of the Tsolyáni language tapes with adjustments to make Prof. Barker’s voice clearer and to remove incidental noises present on the original tape. Tracks 3, 4, and 5 contain digitally remastered copies of a ceremonies from the Temple of Ksárul and Sárku, and of The Lament to the Wheel of Black.

The U-Con Conversations: 2000 & 2001

Transcripts of the conversations of the participants in the 2000 and 2001 UCon Tékumel Track with Prof. Barker. Topics include magic on Tékumel, the Omnipotent Azure Legion, Pé Choi, the Tsolyáni military, and “current events” on Tékumel, and indices provided to facilitate use of the transcripts.

The U-Con Conversations: 1998 & 1999 with Prof. Barker focus primarily on socio-economic aspects of life on Tékumel, particularly clan life on Tékumel, and on various more advanced Tékumel topics. The book contains 46 pages of interviews, transcribed by Robert Dushay, and two indexes to facilitate finding references in the interviews.

Northwest Frontier Gazetteer & Maps

Originally prepared for use by players in Prof. Barker’s own Empire of the Petal Throne campaign. The map set includes six maps drawn by artist Craig Smith, who produced them after extensive research and consultation with Professor Barker. The Gazetteer, written by Thomas Thompson, provides a hex-by-hex description of what lives in each map.

The Book of Ebon Bindings

M.A.R. Barker. Different Worlds

A role-playing aid originally for the Empire of the Petal Throne but has applicability to all Tékumel game settings. The book consists of an introduction to the religion of Tsolyánu and a discussion of its magical arts and demonology. The bulk of the work is a translation of The Book of Ebon Bindings, the complete and detailed ancient text revealing the rituals and incantations used to call forth the creatures from the 48 different planes of being.

The Tsolyáni Language

M.A.R. Barker wrote his two volume book Tsolyáni, the language of the Empire of the Petal Throne, for students, travelers, and businessmen within the empire. The two-volume text is complete with pronunciation, grammar, and useful expressions, English-Tsolyáni and Tsolyáni-English vocabularies, and script.

Gateway to Tékumel

It contains sections describing the Five Empires and small nations, the history of the world clans, the gods of Tékumel, weapons, and guidelines for the play-by-mail role-playing game for which the booklet was originally written.
